What`s going on?
11th June 2002

It`s official!
Social Services in East Sussex are among the worst in the country.

East Sussex County Council managed to score zero points in a recent Government survey of Social Services. Local organisations are still reeling from cutbacks in provision for the most vulnerable members of the County.
So how are the County Council managing to spend Council Taxpayers` money instead? Well, in April they awarded themselves a stonking increase in Members` Allowances, all carefully assessed by an independent committee of experts. Of course.

Meetings

All local voluntary and community organisations are invited to the first regular meeting of Rother Community Links, to hear of the progress made by the Steering Committee since November last year. The other topic for discussion will be the Community Strategy for Rother, led by Cllr Graham Gubby, Leader of Rother District Council.
The meeting will be held on Thursday, 27th June, 2002 at Brede Village Hall, 10.00 am to 12.30 pm.
Disabled access and hearing loop provided.
Refreshments will be served.
Please fill in the Contact us form to indicate whether or not you can join us. A programme and map will be sent to those who indicate they will attend. If you need assistance (for example with travel or care costs) please tell us. Sandy Lazarus, Chairman, Rother Community Links, c/o Rye & District CVS, 25 Cinque Ports Street, RYE East Sussex TN31 7AD
